Students showing food they collected for homeless

You know that sense of pride you get when your child does something wonderful? That’s exactly how we felt when Ms. Whalen’s 5th and 6th grade homeroom students selected their goal in Mrs. Moore’s Social Emotional Learning Class.

Our students chose to “feed the homeless!”

Not a simple undertaking, but they enthusiastically embraced it. On Sept. 5, they organized an assembly line and packed about 32 bags of food.

On Sept. 6, Ms. Pam from Valley Interfaith dropped by the school to talk about Valley Interfaith’s work, answered questions, and gratefully accepted the food donation. Ms. Pam told our students that their donation will “make a great impact!”
